Beyond The Blue

So I am here,
where the lagoon
is married to the sea,
by the rocks, gathered
to protect the land
from waters longing grip.

On those blocks,
within the golden flickering
shower of light
on curling waves,
I’m sitting here,
where shells, all black,
do cover marble white.

And all above,
much higher than the seagulls fly,
four swallows dance and ride the wind
this evening, beyond the blue.
